Lily B Match 2 Walton “9th June 2013
Kingston thrive in the heat
As we all tried desperately to remember what that big yellow ball in the sky was called, our athletes made the best of the arrival of summer with some scintillating performances at sun drenched Walton. The second Lily B meeting of the season saw us romp to a 40+ point victory in the quest to retain our league title.
Notable performances aplenty, including the now well documented first ever female athlete from K+P to vault 3 metres,Caitlin Dimbleby, a fantastic achievement - well done,Caitlin.
Laura Darcey set the standard with a superb 3 new PBs, amongst 38 from our girls on the day. These outstanding performances were matched by a really promising start from some of our young under 11 athletes, Rachel and Anna both with personal bests in the 600m, a good sign for future years.
As usual, many athletes who turned up were often asked to cover events to help our cause and it really is these athletes who make the difference, often attempting events they have never done, but prepared to put the team before personal gain. Often it is these extra points that make the difference at the end of the day. A big thank you to everyone for being so willing to “Give it a go.”
As usual a huge thank you to all our officials and parents who helped on the day; we could not compete as efficiently or effectively without your support and it really is much appreciated.
As usual full results are available on the Power of 10 website.
Hope to see you all at Guildford on the 6th July.
